Difficulties encountered in research
In laboratories and technology platforms alike, microalgae research faces constraints that limit the accuracy and robustness of the studies:
- Partial control of parameters and difficulty in isolating the real effect of an experimental factor
- Variability of culture conditions (light, temperature, gas, etc.)
- Complex standardisation and difficult reproducibility between projects
- Uncertain scaling of results in flasks that are difficult to transpose
- Risks of contamination between strains or between projects
- Reliability of equipment in the face of laboratory constraints (autoclave, chemical agents, etc.)

Our solutions
Speed up your scientific work
Our photobioreactors are designed to meet the requirements of academic and applied research. They provide a stable, controlled and reproducible experimental environment, which is essential for producing reliable data. In particular, they enable:
- Precise and continuous control of critical parameters (light, temperature, agitation, nutrients, etc.)
- High experimental reproducibility for comparing, validating and publishing your results
- Isolated and secure cultures, limiting the risk of contamination
- Standardised protocols, facilitating collaborative work
- Continuity between research and scale-up thanks to transferable technology
- Robust scientific equipment that is easy to clean and sterilise
For example, our photobioreactors are used in:
- Basic research, physiology and metabolism
- Environmental stress and cellular responses
- Selection, characterisation and process development
- Educational projects with students in lab work

Remote access
Control the photobioreactor remotely and receive alerts for your threshold values
Controller
View sensors data in real time on the touchscreen for 1 or 2 culture chambers on NANO and LUCY
LED WHITE or COLORS
Select the spectrum for your experiments: white or adjustable wavelength spectrum
Precise control
An automated, easy-to-use controller with integrated cleaning and disinfection protocols
SALT technology
Cultivate with reliable technology that is compatible with a wide range of strains and scalable
Density sensor
Automate density measurement with non-destructive sampling and improve the robustness of your results
Save data
Record your cultivation data to use in your publications
Monitoring and sensors
Integrate the necessary sensors (O2, CO2, conductivity, PAR, etc.) into your experiments and monitor them on the controller screen
Our technology
We have developed our own patented technology, SALT (Spiral Airlift Tubular), to increase the productivity of your cultures in a smaller volume. This technology, which is compatible with both freshwater and saltwater algae, can achieve productivity levels 10 to 15 times higher than traditional culture systems.

Example with NANO
NANO is our system dedicated to laboratory research and schools. It combines the performance of our photobioreactors in a compact format, perfectly suited to scientific experimentation and learning:
- High cell density and uniform light
- Soft agitation, compatible with many strains of microalgae and cyanobacteria
- Complete monitoring of parameters, with data recording and export
- Remote control via WiFi, with real-time visualisation and customised alerts
- An autoclavable culture chamber, assembled or disassembled in a bag
- Independent control of two chambers, ideal for duplicates
- A turnkey system, compatible with maintenance and autoclaving protocols
- Easy sterile sampling, thanks to an integrated sampling port
Developed with and for researchers, NANO provides a robust and scalable tool. It also allows you to add the following options:
- Density sensor for automatic growth monitoring
- White LED or adjustable spectrum (WHITE or COLORS)
- Integration of additional sensors (O2, CO2, conductivity, PAR, etc.)
